Katherine NT

The trip down Katherine Gorge.

Our mode of transport. (not the kayaks!)

Nice town. All the services. Nice van park at Knotts Crossing.
Did the gorge trip.
Also went to the local museum. Gipsy Moth was one of the original Flying Doctor aircraft.
Local milk maid!

Local birdlife.

Yes... there are crocodiles!

The babies left behind

We went to visit Nimbus and Gary today. They were happy to see us and Nim even let Tom pat him. They are settled but would like some mice delivered.

Darwin. Last day

Now on board. Ship looks sturdy and it might need to be. Water is choppy and the wind is up

Had few Killkennys last night. Jane had a G and T.

More Darwin

We are so impressed with Darwin. Not sure what we expected but we could live here if there was no wet season!

Spent some time at the wharf. Lots of food outlets.

I went to the Aviation Museum (surprise). Was good but not spectacular. B52 impressive (read big). Sabre pretty as always. Spitfire is a replica. Wood and fiberglass.

Tomorrow we put the car and van into storage. Stay in a pub in the CBD that night. Go on board the ship at10am. Sail at11.

Not sure what internet we will have during the cruise so dont get too concerned if we dont post here foyr 10 day or so.

Gonna miss two Swans games. Sigh.

Darwin

An impressive city. Neat and attractive. We went to Mindil Markets for the Territory Day fireworks. Met up with Col and Judi Vasarotti and Peter and Mandy Temple. A most pleasant evening. Great variety of food.

The weather has been nice. Not too hot in the daytime, around 30. Night time about 16or so.
