Nice place. Nice weather. It does give the impression that it was carved out of the scrub last week!

Nice place. Has some bad areas too but generally good.

More Bungles

We drove our Navara to and from over 53k of rough dirt each way. Was not pleasant. Creek crossings were fun though. 2 hours each way!

Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm were stunning.

Nice tented accommodation with en suite.

The sun reaches the bottom of the chasm at noon.

Huge enclosed area.

Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing

Not much here. No photos. Stayed one night at FC. That was enough.

Arrived today at Derby. Looks a lot more interesting. Check the size of the boab tree at a rest stop!!

Bungles

 

Helicopter joyflights from the van park to the Bungles.  No, we did not partake!

Stayed at the van park just off the highway. Quite a nice bushy feel to the place.  Left the vans here while we drove into the park.

More Kununurra

Did the Ord River/Argyle Dam trip today. Boat up and bus back. Lots of fresh water crocs. Also visited the Durack homestead. Off to the Bungles tomorrow.

Wyndham

Interesting place but very run down. Not much going on except iron ore which arrives by sea (?) and is trucked to somewhere.

Museum was good. Lunch at the lookout.

We did a day trip to W from K. Did not stay here.
